This Man Is Willing to Gamble His Life Savings on a Reality Show

I was intrigued by this photograph of a potential Tontine contestant at last week's auditions in Los Angeles (see article from the OC Register). A well-coiffed, older gentleman, not the typical reality contestant demographic. The photo's caption says his name is Murti Schofield. Who is this man, then, willing to risk everything he has on Tontine?

A quick search of Google shows that Murti Schofield is a writer whose credits include one of the Lara Croft: Tomb Raider video games, and more recently, a fantasy novel called The Shadow Histories. The book's website describes the impression comic books made on his childhood and ultimately his decision to go into creative writing. Maybe Tontine will be the inspiration for his biggest work yet?

Give Murti a chance. He could end up like Rudy on Survivor and actually make it through a couple of rounds if he makes it on the show at all.
