Where Have You Gone, Colby Donaldson?

Sure, you're one of a select few who've competed on reality shows like Survivor and The Amazing Race. There's maybe, tops, a couple hundred people like you in the whole world. You've run around poles, swam here, swam there, solved puzzles. It's all quite a feat, laudable, a sure route to respect, envy, and lifelong admiration. Or is it?

Of all of these reality show contestants, once beamed to us like superheroes in slow-mo opening sequences with dramatic music, how many do we really admire now? I mean, let's face it, these people's 15 minutes are a lot shorter than most, especially when your fame is built around, well, a pretty meaningless game.

The thing about Tontine is, it's not a game. It is, at the very least, a life-altering event for everyone involved. A journey to a place most of us will never even fathom going, a place with no safety nets, no B-plans, just the stark reality of something few people ever have the courage to embrace: real change.

So win or lose, how can you not admire the Tontine 15?
